Summary

COVER published a COVERedge interview with the staff behind hololive SUPER EXPO 2026. The team looks back on the first three-day event at Makuhari Messe, the hololive time-warp theme, venue design and plans for the future.

COVER Corporation has published a behind-the-scenes interview with the team that staged hololive SUPER EXPO 2026 as support staff. The event ran for three days for the first time, from March 6 to 8, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, under the theme hololive time-warp. The concept starts from the idea that, because they are VTubers, talents can freely move across eras and give shape to countless what-if possibilities. The COVERedge feature talks to Y and K of the Event Planning Team in the Music and Live Event Business Department, interviewed in March 2026. They describe how the theme was chosen, the struggle to turn a futuristic time-warp feeling into a key visual with newly drawn Year 3000-style outfits, and the work with production partner Hakuten to build the venue world down to lighting and modeling details. Highlights included an entrance modeled on a warp device, a large futuristic monument with nostalgic footage looking back on each talent, a hololive Time Capsule display of personal items such as equipment used in a first stream and letters to future fans, Monitoring Talk booths for conversations across time and space, and booths showing 3D live moments. Planning put talent enjoyment first, leaving the Time Capsule choices to each talent's own interpretation, and focused exhibits for projects such as hOCG, Holoearth and hololive Dreams around individual personalities. The staff also discuss sponsor activity, including the GUNDAM x hololive production collaboration announced on the eve of the event and a Suzuki collaboration bike GSX250R Chihaya Remix designed with Rindo Chihaya, long lines at sponsor booths, and hopes to link online streaming with offline events and one day realize a global EXPO. The full interviews are available in Japanese and English on COVERedge.
