Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the ViLife Android app and the vilife.net website (together, “ViLife”). ViLife is a virtual-world and VTuber news reader that can be used without creating an account.

The Android app contains no advertising or behavioral analytics SDK and does not require an account. It requests only the permissions needed for internet access and network-state checks.

• Your language preference is stored on your device and is removed when you clear app data or uninstall the app.
• When you read news, the app sends request parameters such as the selected language, topic, page number, or article identifier to ViLife over HTTPS. As with any internet service, the server may automatically process IP address, request time, request path, and client information in operational and security logs.
• Article images may be cached on your device to load them faster. You can remove this cache by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
• The app does not access precise location, contacts, the list of installed apps, photos or files, camera, microphone, or advertising identifiers.

The website stores a language preference and uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how pages are used, improve usability, diagnose errors, and protect the service. Through cookies and similar technologies, Clarity may process page views, clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, page layout, device and browser information, diagnostic events, and pseudonymous identifiers used to distinguish browsers and sessions. Sensitive input content is masked by default. Clarity is not integrated into the Android app itself.

ViLife processes data only as needed to provide and improve the news service, including to:

• respond to requests for news, topics, images, and articles;
• remember language choices and improve loading performance;
• diagnose failures, measure website usability, prevent abuse, and protect the service;
• comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.

ViLife does not sell personal data. Data needed to operate the service may be processed by providers of hosting, content delivery, storage, or security support. Website usage data may also be processed by Microsoft Clarity under Microsoft’s privacy statement. We otherwise disclose data only when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a lawful business transfer.

If you choose an external link such as “Read the original,” the destination website handles your visit under its own privacy policy.

Language preferences and image caches on your device remain until you clear app or browser data or uninstall the app. Server operational and security logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized. Clarity data retention is governed by Microsoft’s applicable terms and settings.

ViLife does not provide end-user accounts, so it holds no account profile to delete.

The Android app communicates with ViLife over HTTPS. We use access controls, updates, log review, and data-minimization measures appropriate to the service and the data involved. No method of internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

ViLife is a general-audience news service. It is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly ask children to submit personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.

You can clear local data, restrict or clear cookies in your device or browser, or stop using the service. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing of personal data relating to you.

If the app, website, or data practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes will receive additional notice where appropriate.
