iU and Yamaha Open VOCALOID Music Production Practice Course

Yamaha Corporation and iU (Professional University of Information and Management for Innovation) have opened applications for the second, practice-focused installment of their joint VOCALOID music-production course. The four-session course examines music production in VOCALOID culture through workshops. Participants will work with a VOCALOID producer’s song on artwork, music-video concepts and scenarios, creator direction, and YouTube distribution and promotion. The program is open to people who did not take the earlier introductory course. Sessions are scheduled at iU’s Takeshiba Satellite Office in Tokyo on November 15, December 5, December 12, and December 19, 2026, with an online progress check around November 22. The December 5 session includes a history and technology lecture by VOCALOID developer Hideki Kenmochi. VOCALOID producer Nejishiki and Yamaha VOCALOID main producer Masashi Yoshida are among the instructors. The course is for high-school students and older, with a maximum of 24 places. Tuition is ¥55,000 including tax and includes a VOCALOID6 product license; it is ¥33,000 including tax for people who already own VOCALOID6. Attendees must bring a laptop that meets VOCALOID6 system requirements. Applications close November 2, 2026.
