Ouka Miko VOCALOID prototype demo "Ike no Ame" released, second voice confirmed

Summary

Yamaha's VOCALOID account published a singing demo, "Ike no Ame," using a simplified prototype Ouka Miko voicebank, and confirmed a second voice. The VOCALOID FAN-ding open-call project ended on June 7, with the ¥12,000 download plan positioned as a lower-cost way to obtain two voices.

Yamaha's official VOCALOID X account (@vocaloid_yamaha) announced on June 1, 2026 that the VOCALOID FAN-ding project "Ouka Miko Vocaloid Project" has published a singing demo, "Ike no Ame," using a simplified prototype of the Ouka Miko VOCALOID voicebank. The video "VOCALOID Voicebank Ouka Miko Simplified Prototype: Ike no Ame" was posted to YouTube on May 31, 2026. The prototype was built from provisional training using test recordings of only a few songs. The team will re-record properly after the crowdfunding ends, so the commercial release may sound different. It was released as reference audio for potential backers. The same post confirms production of a second voice ("Daini-chan," the second voice). According to the CAMPFIRE page (https://camp-fire.jp/projects/941742/view), the project aims to turn Ouka Miko — active as a UTAU, VTuber and VOICEVOX character — into a VOCALOID Voicebank through "VOCALOID FAN-ding," Yamaha's crowdfunding-based vocal-creation support service, as the first challenger selected via the open call. Voice and management are by Mizuki Akano and character design by Oniku Agata; the character rights belong to the challenger, not Yamaha, which provides technical and production support. The all-in campaign ran from April 10, 2026 to June 7, 2026. Milestones included VOCALOID:AI voicebank production at ¥3.5 million, 3D model production at ¥5 million, a second Daini-chan vocal at ¥6 million, and an additional demo song at ¥7 million, all of which are reported as achieved. On pricing, the official post notes that backing the download edition (¥12,000) via BokaFan is cheaper than buying two voices at regular retail (excluding sale prices). The project page compares this with typical VOCALOID SHOP prices of around ¥10,000 per voice and around ¥15,000 for two-voice sets. An editor is required to sing with the voicebank. Backing plans bundle either VOCALOID Editor Lite (limited to 2 tracks and standalone operation) or the full VOCALOID Editor with no functional limits. Other returns included early-access rights and a listening session, mini-live and talk event planned for 13:00–15:00 on November 22, 2026 in Tokyo. Crowdfunding has ended and no new pledges can be made. Return items are to ship sequentially from December 2026, and general sales of the voicebank are scheduled to start from December 2026 via download on VOCALOID SHOP. A standard packaged edition may also be released. The demo remains viewable on YouTube.
